National Parks Week – Priceless!
2April 22, 2013 by Deborah W. Trotter
Today, April 22, through this Friday, April 26, entry fees will be waived at National Parks throughout the United States. According to the National Park Foundation, everyone in the U.S. lives within approximately 100 miles of a National Park, so if you have transportation, you have no excuse not to visit one this week!
Living in the San Francisco Bay Area in California puts me in a National Park System paradise. Nearby we have the Golden Gate National Recreation Area
and Point Reyes National Seashore.
To the south is Pinnacles National Park,
to the southeast is Yosemite National Park,
northeast is Lassen Volcanic National Park,
and there are many more distant (from me) National Parks and Monuments within the borders of our state.
But California is just one state. Our country is rich in the natural treasure protected by our National Parks, and they belong to all of us. (You can link to websites for all Parks I have posted about on this blog by clicking on my “Park Links” tab above.)
So, where will you go this week?
Great shots.
Thanks so much!
